Walking along the shores and trails near our home, I will often see a blue heron. They are a large, beautiful bird but if you sneak up on them, a loud squawk and huge flapping wings can cause you to take a step back! My children and I would fish this area when they were younger and we lost more than one lure in tree branches or in the thick lily pads along the edges.
